The Epomaker x AULA F108 is a 100% full-sized keyboard with ANSI US layout, that includes 108 keys but no knobs nor display screens.

Being a 100% keyboard, users get a fully functional numpad and all the “extra” keys like arrow keys, navigation keys and the complete F number row.

Aesthetically, the Epomaker x AULA F108 has a stealthy personality with an all-black case and dark-grey keycaps without any top printed fonts.

The keyboard might not have a knob but, instead, holds a 4-key row above the numpad dedicated to volume control and a shortcut for a calculator app; you can easily reprogram their function and make this row a 4 macro/custom keys quick access.

On the top case, sitting between the arrow keys and the TKL navigation keys, you will see a backlit AULA logo and horizontal strip light.

On the upper left corner, to the right of the ESC key, the AULA F108 has 3 independent status light indicators for Caps Lock, Scroll Lock and Win Lock.

The bottom case holds 4 rubberized feet and 2 adjustable one with 2 steps.

The build material of the case is ABS plastic and despite not having a metal plate on the bottom case, the Epomaker x AULA F108 has some weight to it; giving it a confident and durable feel.

Inside, the keyboard sports a hot-swappable board, gasket-mount structure, flex-cut, polycarbonate plate and 5 layers of dampening and sound enhancing material (like PO Sandwich Foam, PO Switch Pad, PET Sound-Enhancement Pad, PO Bottom Foam and Bottom Silicone)

If you buy the black grey version of the Epomaker x AULA F108 (like us), you will receive a more unique keycaps set than on the other color variants.

The keycaps use a side-printed design with no visible top fonts nor any printing at all visible when the RGB lights are turned off.

Side-printed keycaps used to be a niche type of caps a couple of years ago when we reviewed the Keydous NJ98, nowadays these are more commonly seen on many consumer keyboards too.

Nonetheless, the wow factor and uniqueness given by the side-printed keycaps still remains solid.

Quality-wise, the keycaps are made of double-shot PBT, have MX Cherry profile and have a nicely fine-textured finish over the surface.

The AULA is available only with LEOBOG Greywood V3 switches; these are linear switches.

The LEOBOG Greywood V3 are particularly lighter and faster than popular linear switches and even from some LEOBOG linear switches that we have recently reviewed.

This makes them very good for fast typers and better adapted for tasks like gaming; at the same time, the switches are not overly light as to register inputs by simply resting the fingers over any key.

As more than 90% of Epomaker keyboards, the Epomaker x AULA F108 can be used either wired or wirelessly and users have access to wireless 2.4G tech and Bluetooth.

Probably you would not expect that this large keyboard can compete with some 60% gaming models regarding specs and features but the Epomaker x AULA F108 holds up and fulfills gamers needs by offering 1000Hz of polling rate, 2ms of latency and NKRO anti-ghosting.

The rear edge of the case holds the detachable USB-C port, the connection mode switch and a dedicated slot for the 2.4G dongle.

LIGHTING

Lighting is a key factor for keyboards with side-printed keycaps like this one.

The south-facing LEDs on the Epomaker x AULA F108 did not disappoint to provide efficient and even illumination to get the side-printed keys alive.

On top of that, the keyboard sports one strip light per bottom side-edge which adds a touch of personality and glow to the unit.

SOUND

The sound profile of the Epomaker x AULA F108 has a decisively poppy personality.

Moreover, the keyboard showed a much quieter audible feedback per key press than some mechanical keeb competitors.

Regarding pinging, resonance and echo, the AULA F108 does a pristine job without showing a single hint of neither.

The plate-mounted stabilizers responded smoothly and free of rattling noises that could come from incorrect lubing.

BATTERY

Despite being a large keyboard with much more keys and LEDs, the Epomaker x AULA F108 holds inside the standard 4000mAh battery seen usually on smaller keyboards.

In spite of the smaller capacity, the brand promises 200 hours of runtime per charge.
