DESIGN
gramophone-256604.5/5

Overall, aesthetically, the Epomaker x AULA F75 MAX looks nearly identical to the Epomaker Cypher 81 – even more if you get them with the same color style.

Nonetheless, they are not 100% and there are some clear design differences like the arrow and navigation keys not being separated from the main keys nor the presence of the vertical strip light seen on the Cypher 81.

Also, the AULA has a very nice and useful detail that we would love to see in every keyboards: a dedicated Caps Lock light right next to the key, sitting in the case itself.

The rear edge holds the detachable wired connector, a connection mode switch and a slot for the 2.4G dongle.

On the bottom, you will see a metal plate, 4 large rubberized feet and 2 adjustable feet.

The Epomaker x AULA F75 MAX is available in 2 different colors:

• Epomaker x AULA F75 MAX Blue White
• Epomaker x AULA F75 MAX Black

DISPLAY SCREEN
gramophone-256603.75/5

Another similar element with the Cypher 81, is the screen on the AULA 75 MAX, being both 0.85″ in size.

Yet, the displays are certainly different, with the AULA having a sharper and probably higher resolution panel with a more colorful UI and more menu options.

On the other hand, fonts are small as on the Cypher and the AULA is dimmer and get even dimmer when not looked straight from above.

Despite this, the screen shows useful info like:

• Win/Mac mode
• Connection mode
• Caps Lock
• Win lock
• Connection bank
• Date
• Time
• Battery
• Settings and menu navigation for lighting, volume and effects
•  GIFs

CONSTRUCTION & BUILD
gramophone-256604.5/5

The case of the Epomaker x AULA F75 MAX is made of ABS with a material quality that feels superior than some other plastic keyboards.

Inside, the AULA is equipped with a hot-swappable PCB that needs no soldering, plate-mount stabilizers, a gasket-mount structure design and 5 layers of dampening.

Weighting nearly 1kg, the AULA F75 Max is, certainly, a heavier keyboards than the average one with a plastic case, yet this makes it feel more rugged, durable and stable.

KEYCAPS
gramophone-256604.5/5

We pointed out the strong resemblance when comparing the Epomaker Cypher 81 vs Epomaker x AULA F75 Max.

This also applies to the Cherry keycaps set in White Blue version; yet, these are actually not the exact same keycaps.

The set in the AULA F75 Max do make use of white, blue and violet but have a less contrasty effect due to a lighter blue color used for the printed fonts and deeper violet keycaps colors (in comparison with the Cypher)

Regarding the knob, once again, it shares the visuals and build of the one seen on the Cypher 81 but it works differently, being this encoder in the AULA more tactile and responding with audible click feedback per notch.

The finish of the keycaps has a fine-texture that feels nice to the touch while the construction of the keycaps is made of quality PBT and no cheap ABS plastics.

SWITCHES
gramophone-25660
4/5

The Epomaker x AULA F75 Max is available with 1 switches option: the LEOBOG Reaper.

These LEOBOG switches are of linear type, so if you wanted a tactile or clicky variant you will need to replace the switches yourself.

The LEOBOG Reaper shares some qualities with some heavier linears and Epomaker switches like the Wisteria; which with a trigger and bottom force a bit heavier than average but with a fairly fast personality combines into a “do-it-all” type of switch that can be excellent for a daily driver.

CON

CONNECTIVITY
gramophone-256604.75/5

As with most current Epomaker keyboards, the Epomaker x AULA F75 MAX is equipped with a triple connectivity system that allows up to 5 devices paired.

Users can set the keeb in wireless Bluetooth, detachable wired or wireless 2.4G (with the dongle) modes and use 3 available banks in BT mode.

When used wired or in 2.4G wireless, the AULA can reach 1000Hz of polling rate and as low as 3ms (USB) – at the same time, the keyboard supports NKRO.

L

LIGHTING
gramophone-256604/5

The keyboard offers plenty of RGB presets and effects with customization of colors, speed and brightness through the app or in the built-in menus through the display screen.

With the light-colored theme, the south-facing RGB LED give a nice popping effect but they were not as bright as some of the brightest LEDs seen on some competitors.

S

SOUND
gramophone-256605/5

We might have got spoiled by brands like Epomaker that have been nailing the “from-factory thock” without any modding nor fiddling needed by users; but the Epomaker x AULA F75 MAX is yet another example of what the brand is capable to deliver for little money.

On this AULA keyboard you will notice a premium thock-pop right out of the box and no signs of pinging nor resonance.

Moreover, the pre-lubed stabs never needed extra lubing as they were 100% rattle-free.

B

BATTERY
gramophone-256603.75/5

This AULA keyboard comes with a battery capacity that has been set as a common standard in 75% keyboards; 4000mAh.

In spite of this, due to the weight of the model some users might have thought that a chunkier battery was placed inside.
