Design
Coherently with most other power tools from the brand, the HYCHIKA Cordless Reciprocating Saw has a 3-color design with the use of green, black and red along the body of the tool and accessories.
Differently than nearly every other reciprocating saw on the market, the HYCHIKA includes a front facing aid LED light that illuminates the working/cutting area.
Moreover, the smaller batteries also have the same LED light design seen on the 4Ah battery packs, which serve to control the battery charge with a 3-level charge status.
The handle of the tool has a large size to fit any user’s hands while the use of rubberized sections along the main handle/trigger section and front handling parts for a second hand make the reciprocating saw easy to grab and provide a stable handling that will not slip out of your hands.
To replace the blades, the saw has a twist and lock installation design that is commonly seen in jigsaws.
Unlike other reciprocating saws (including from market leading brands), the HYCHIKA has an adjustable and removable base plate. In order to lock/unlock the plate you will need to use the dedicated lever placed on the right section of the front case – in red color.

Construction & Build
Inside, the HYCHIKA Cordless Reciprocating Saw is powered by a 18V brushless motor that is capable of offering up to 2800 SPM of no-load speed.
The HYCHIKA saw might have a friendly price but the brand has not cheaped out in the construction of the main elements and details of the tool. In fact, you will find that sections like the chuck ring, base plate and blade shield are fully made of metal.
Inline with modern power tools, the HYCHIKA Cordless Reciprocating Saw has an external case made mostly of plastic but the device seems to use, more or less, similar level of quality for their plastics as what we can feel by grabbing our Milwaukee FUEL and Dewalt XR power tools.

Ergonomics
When directly comparing it with a Dewalt XR cordless reciprocating saw that use as the main recipr. saw, the HYCHIKA is much slimmer and way lighter than the Dewalt but it is longer.
As what happened with the small but highly efficient HYCHIKA Cordless Drill Driver Kit, this battery-powered reciprocating saw from the brand provides an excellent power-compactness ratio that makes it ergonomically-friendly and a tool that we found ourselves preferring to grab for daily works than bigger, chunkier alternatives.
Due to the lighter weight, the HYCHIKA Cordless Reciprocating Saw induces less fatigue and longer working times before needing to rest the arms while the smaller size makes it more manageable.
The trigger is protected by 2nd switch lock placed right above the main lock and that is designed to be ambidextrous as it can be activated pushing it either from the left or right side.

Performance
It is nice seeing that the brand does not only include a battery charger and one battery pack with the unit but it, instead, bundles 2 batteries with the reciprocating saw. These battery packs have a capacity of 2Ah, thus are not as beefy as the 4Ah seen on the HYCHIKA vacuum cleaner, impact wrench, mini chainsaw nor angle grinder.
Nonetheless, we found the 2Ah to be more than enough to get the full power output of the brushless motor inside this HYCHIKA Cordless Reciprocating Saw and, also, proved to ensure long runtimes per charge.
On top of that, thanks to the inter-compatibility of the battery packs of the main power tools from the brand, users can upgrade the 2Ah and use the higher-capacity 4Ah packs sold by the brand – if you need it.
On top of that, our tests revealed that, in spite of being a significantly smaller reciprocating saw than other mainstream branded that we have at the office, the HYCHIKA saw was able to cut through 100mm, 120mm wood without showing signs of the motor struggling nor falling short of power to complete the tasks – if you need to cut wood or metal, the unit comes with a metal cutting saw blade and also a wood cutting saw blade, so you can get to work with the tool right away without needing any further purchase out of the box.
If we had to point out a detail about the tool is that, despite having a variable speed control (0-2800 SPM), which we highly welcomed to see in a budget tool, the trigger seemed to be a bit to reactive and more difficult to have a fine control of the mid speeds available than the Dewalt XR reciprocating saw.

The HYCHIKA Cordless Reciprocating Saw offers an impressive value for money seeing the performance, power and bundled dual batteries; also considering that this budget tool has a brushless motor.
