Bass & Sub Bass
The Skullcandy JIB bass has a very important mid-bass and sub-bass, quite unexpected for such a plasticky and small earphone. Their bass is tuned to provide a powerful and fun response with the ability to cover absolutely any music genres, no matter how much bass-hungry it is.
Applying an EQ, there is a crazy amount of depth added and extra punchy response, be ready for a bass-only earphone though.
Putting the Skullcandy JIB through out our standardized basshead tests, they handled up to 30% of a Fiio amplifier
maximum power (Fiio E12 Mont Blanc
) incorporating an insane depth in their sub-bass but they were unable to reach basshead rumble and impact, remaining below the Sony MDR-EX650

Mids & Vocals
The Skullcandy JIB mids have warm mids with strong mid-bass bleed congesting male vocals and lower mids, still lower vocals do not sound extremely distant (if you do not weight their congestion).
Higher mids are sufficiently crisp and clear yet not typically harsh.
With an EQ there is a great improvement of mids with much less congested lower mids and more alive sounding vocals. Still expect a congested and mid-bass heavy sound

Highs & Treble
The Skullcandy JIB highs have are very dark and do not resolve detail. Clearly, their treble is recessed and will not provide a refined type of sound but will offer no piercing peaks (some sibilance is present).
An EQ adds some detail and mild brightness. Nonetheless their highs remain dark and a general muddy sound signature will always be present.

The sound leaking out of the Skullcandy JIB is slightly stronger than most average earphones, this does not mean that they are extra leaking but consider this if you were searching for an earphone for library use.

Sound Isolation
The sound isolation provided by the Skullcandy JIB is fairly stronger than most normal earphones. They will not provide an absolute isolation on moderate or low volume settings, though.

Response to Equalization
The response to EQ of the Skullcandy JIB did not show substantial improvement on most of the audio ranges but it did achieve a very important empowering of their lower frequencies.

Summary
✅ Super punchy and deep bass

We do not evaluate earphones and headphones only from a high-demanding nor audiophile-snob listener point of view, we contemplate that there are different types of listeners that are looking for all sort of opposing sound signatures but we find difficult to safely recommend the Skullcandy JIB due to their narrow type of public that might appreciate their sound.
Due to their very dark highs, congested mids, strong mid-bass bleed and super punchy and deep bass they can only be recommended to lovers of extra bassy sound and that do not care much about mids and highs.
