The TRN V30 features an hybrid drivers configuration with 2 balanced armatures and 1 dynamic driver per earpiece.
The earpieces are transparent, allowing all the inner components to be seen at plain sight. At first sight, the TRN V30 might look like the KZ ES4 and KZ AS10 (even somewhat like the 5-driver KZ ZS10) but the form factor is different, with a better designed and optimized ergonomics that inherited some features from the TRN IM1, TRN V10 and the TFZ Secret Garden, KZ ZSR, KZ ZS3E, KZ ZS4.
The cable of the TRN V30 is detachable and uses bi-pin connectors – some other affordable earphones that use this kind of cable connectors include the:
- CCA C16 – (probably the most affordable 8-driver earphone to date)
- CCA C10 – 5-driver ultra affordable
- TFZ T2
- TFZ QUEEN
- BQEYZ KC2
- KZ ZSN
The cable of the TRN V30 is a 4-core oxygen-free with an helix design and a rubberized finish, while the 3.5mm plug is constructed in metal like the cable bifurcation section and it’s mic/remote – the color of the cable will be black. The bi-pin connectors are curved
Moreover, users can opt to buy the TRN V30 with or without an inline remote/microphone – the price of the model without the remote will be marginally lower.
The TRN V30 is found in 2 color variations, transparent and black.

The TRN V30 unboxing results in 3 pair of eartips and the detachable bi-pin cable.
The packaging is practically the same of the newer TRN products, like the TRN IM1 and the TRN BT20 Bluetooth cable and different than “older” models such as the TRN V80, TRN V60 and TRN V20.

Bass & Sub Bass
The TRN V30 has a very punchy mid-bass that can add body and fun to any track thrown at it.
Sub-bass is able to become remarkably deep as to fulfill, even, EDM and bass-hungry genres.
Nonetheless, their lower frequencies do not sound excessively out of control for a bassy earphone, allowing space for their mids, vocals and highs.
With an EQ, their, already bass profile becomes crazy deep and punchy.
Through out our extreme basshead tests, the TRN V30 managed up to 40% of the maximum power coming from FiiO A5 amplifier
(while set to high gain, bass boost on and applying a custom-tailored basshead EQ). The results showed an exponential increase of their punch and depth, even reaching mild rumble and impact.
Yet, their basshead potential will remain far below extreme rumbling basshead earphones such as the Pioneer SE-CX8

Mids & Vocals
The TRN V30 has very warm mids with full-sounding and relaxed male vocals and some mid-bass bleed.
Despite this bleed, their midrange does not get overly congested (expect some, though).
Higher mids are well-tuned as to sound crisp and clear without getting harsh – in fact, TRN achieved to push their higher midrange right up to the limits before getting annoying.
With an EQ, their midrange can be efficiently refined. Lower mids and male vocals will clear up most of their congestion while retaining the cozy and warm sound. Higher mids can be smooth out, lowering the chance of any harshy peaks without loosing much crispness.

Highs & Treble
The TRN V30 upper end are able to resolve an unexpectedly good amount of detail. Their overall, highs sound sufficiently bright with a slight darkish tint over them that results in an energetic but not fatiguing personality.
In general, there will not be presence of excruciatingly sibilant peaks, yet some piercing spikes can arise.
Applying an EQ, their highs and treble ranges can be pushed for groundbreaking improvement over brightness and clarity with an outstanding ability to resolve detail.

Sound Leak
The sound leaking out of the TRN is fairly lower than on many average earphones. This means that if volume is kept within moderate/low, their leakage will be marginal while it will become substantially stronger with very high volume settings.

Sound Isolation
The sound isolation provided by the TRN V30 is noticeably stronger than on most normal earphones.
This is, in part, thanks to their deep and tight fit.

Comfort
The TRN V30 have a thin profile and curvy forms that allow them to sit flush with the ears and grant a remarkably secure and comfortable fit.
The form factor has no pointy edges nor bulky size, that also combines with their very light weight to level up even further their comfort and fit performance.

Response to Equalization
The response to EQ of the TRN V30 was outstandingly efficient, with major improvement over their highs brightness and detail and phenomenal refinement over their midrange.
