? 2nd generation of the Yinyoo V2 – we could call it Yinyoo V2 v2, but things get confusing like that.

The Yinyoo V2 2nd generation has the exact same earphone design as the Yinyoo V2 gen. 1 but is a new revision of the brand which was secretly retuned and re-released under the same name – there is no marking nor naming that denotes the gen. 2 model.

We usually do not review more than once a same model but we have received so many requests from our readers that we did the exception to give the Yinyoo V2 gen. 2 a dedicated review.

On the other hand, we will get in-depth (as usual) on their sound performance and tests results.

Some owners of the Yinyoo V2 gen. 1 loved their smooth and gentle sound while others wanted a spicier sound with more emphasize over lower mids and highs.

The Yinyoo V2 gen. 2 and the gen. 1 have the exact same accessories and packaging. Moreover, the cable is also the same one in both revisions.

Bass & Sub Bass

The bass of the Yinyoo V2 gen. 2 is fairly controlled with an energetic mid-bass and full but not extremely deep sub-bass.

This is not an earphone adapted for EDM nor bassheads but listeners looking for a full sounding with a less-invasive bass style will like them.

With an EQ, depth and punch will get much more intense but do not expect to get a basshead earphone out of these.

Mids & Vocals

The Yinyoo V2 gen. 2 are pleasantly warm, with a bit of mid-bass bleed but that does not get out of control.

Male vocals are full-bodied and laid back. Higher mids are crisp and clear with a tuning that does not get forward nor recessed.

Peaks on the higher mids range can show up sporadic harshy peaks but will neither be too strong nor too often.

An EQ can fine tune their midrange into a cleaner and better balanced sound with no strong empowering over harshness.

Mids on this newer revision of the Yinyoo V2 shows a marginally less highlighted mid-bass bleed, which adds a slightly clearer sound to their lower midrange. To keep things simple, do not expect any groundbreaking difference here.

Highs & Treble

Similar to their mids, their highs can be defined as “pleasant”.

Their highs are sufficiently bright and detailed but not over-emphasized nor fatiguing.

Piercing peaks, usually, do not show up while sibilance might show up from time to time with a mild and not too disturbing intensity.

A custom EQ can boost their highs into a much brighter sound that also gets more open and defined yet not excessively fatiguing.

This new revision of the Yinyoo V2 has slightly spicier highs with some added sibilance presence but also a bit of a brighter and more detailed sound – not a day and night difference, though.

Sound Leak

The sound leaking out of the Yinyoo V2 gen. 2 is much lower than most earphones and nearly silent when listening music at low/moderate volume settings.

Sound Isolation

The sound isolation of the Yinyoo V2 gen. 2 is strong and efficient and with even the potential to reach total isolation.

Comfort

The Yinyoo V2 gen.1 and the gen.2 revisions have identical earpieces, therefore they also have an identical level of comfort and fit – which is an outstandingly comfortable level.

Some minor details of both generations of the Yinyoo V2 (at least our units) are: a slightly longer cable for the new generation, a smaller-sized “Yinyoo” writing on the 3.5mm connector and a metal cable strainer with a ring-like shape.

Response to Equalization

The response to EQ of the Yinyoo V2 gen. 2 was noticeable and efficient with good re-tuning results.

Conclusion

The new revision of the Yinyoo V2 (Yinyoo V2 2nd generation) proved to be the exact same earphone with very similar sound but some retuning over mids and highs. While their midrange retuning is marginal, their highs and treble showed the most noticeable difference between the gen.1 and the gen.2

Owners of the Yinyoo V2 gen.1 that loved them but wished that they had a less relaxed highs response will be glad with the newest generation of the Yinyoo V2.

In theory, all the new Yinyoo V2 bought from the link in this review will give you the gen. 2 model as the gen. 1 has been replaced by this newer revision.
